What inspires you to compete?
What inspired me to compete was two guys named Conan Hayes and Shane Dorian. They are professional surfers from my hometown called Kailua-kona. I wanted to be just like them in every way. They get to travel the world and surf in contest at the best places all around the world. I am following them in their footsteps. Conan took me under his belt with his company he now owns called RVCA. They are blowing up. I love riding for them. I want to grow with the brand and be like the next Bruce Irons of Volcom. Pat Tenore is partners with Conan and both of them together are so rad! RVCA is the next big thing! I really love having Logan Dulien as my team manager. he is the man and is so good at what he does. he has really been the one who really helped me with my career and started introducing me to alot of people and going on trips with them. Hanging out with Logan is so fun. He is always physced to surf and is one of the coolest guys i`ve every met in the whole world. RVCA really inspires me to compete because i want to blow them up!!
Music?
I love music. I couldn`t live without it. As of right now, my ipod is fully used up. i really love rap. Andre Nicatina is the man. He has a lot of good beats and baselines. he get`s me pumped to go surf and i really like that about him. I hope to meet him one day!
Why do you compete?
I compete because i am such a competitive person. I have so much drive to be number 1. When I compete is when i get my rage out. I am always physced to do a contest. i just love the feeling of getting first first in a heat and to top it off, getting first in the final. My main goal overall is to make the WCT and i`ll be ready to gruel it out on the WQS next year. It`s on!!
What do you want to be when you grow up?
This one is pretty obvious. a pro surfer. I want to be on the WCT and surf for the world tittle. That is my dream and i`ll do anything it takes. I am ready to start my pro career in 2006 and I can`t wait. It`s on!! here we go!!
Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?
I really love to travel. i`ve been all around the world. Australia twice, South Africa, Fiji, Tahiti, Mainland Mexico, Costa Rica, and Indo. My best travel story would probably be my most recent one, Indo. We were on the 70 foot yacht called the komodo for 14 days. I was with one of my sponsors On A Mission, who sent me out there on a bonus trip for winning Nationals. I was with all of my friends and we scored perfect waves for two weeks straight with no one around. I surfed some of the best waves of my life in Indo and I can`t wait to go back. Im going back as soon as I can!!
