February 6, 1988 // Kilauea, Hawaii
Synopsis: The stories don’t come more interesting than that of Seabass Zietz. Born on Kauai with three thumbs, a gene for ripping, and without a birth certificate, Seabass had been flying under the radar for too long…until recently, when the lad got a passport and tore the surf world a new one.
Variables: Freakishly talented in the water and on the dance floor, as long as Seabass steers clear of running with a South Central break-dance crew, he’s on the right track to surf stardom. A few more solid contest results wouldn’t hurt either.
Forecast: After winning the Oakley Pro Junior at Lowers in ’08 followed by a stellar winter on the North Shore, Seabass is looking primed and ready for ’09.
