Synopsis: With a passport that reads more like that of a 20-year vet, Luke’s one of the most well-traveled, well-seasoned surfers in the Hot 100. The ironic thing is, it’s surfing in his own backyard that may have served him best. Showing up at Lowers whenever it’s good, Luke’s been able to bask in the performances of Kelly, Cory, the Gudauskas boys, and a host of others who show up at the famed A-frame on a somewhat regular basis.
Variables: The technique and style are flawless, but unlike a few other kids in his class, the arrival of puberty’s plagued Luke’s stature. Put plainly, the kid’s still got chicken legs, which means a diminished potential for power.
Forecast: Just wait—once he gets a little hair on that chest, he’ll be a force to be reckoned with.
