Synopsis: Clay is unequivocally one of the most talented freesurfers on the planet. Diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome a year ago, his minor idiosyncrasies are more understood now, which is translating into more inspired, more jaw-dropping performances in the water.
Variables: Clay greatly benefits from having good people around him, and so far he’s enjoyed the good fortune of a great support network. Here’s hoping that he remains in good company.
Forecast: As long as he keeps the gills wet he’ll have a long, fruitful career in front of as many lenses as he wants. Chances are the competitive thing won’t bear the same fruit that his freesurfing performances will, but with talent like his, it’d be a shame to cage him in anyway.
