Plucked from the obscurity of Huahini, Tahiti, and transplanted on the Gold Coast of Australia, Tamoroa McComb’s rapid arrival on the surfing scene shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. Under the wing of Aussie adventurer, shaper, and all around hellman, Dylan Longbottom, McComb’s move to the big city comes as a way to fine tune his surfing and develop his competitive skills. With his formative years spent in the tubes of Tahiti, his knack for the barrel is well honed, but now with the groomed points of the Gold Coast spread out before him, he’s on his way to becoming one of the most well-rounded young surfers out there. Most recently he walked away from the Hurley Pro with his first big junior win, which in turn’s only made him more hungry.
