What a difference a good wave makes. You look at guys like Mick Fanning and Joel Parkinson, or Andy and Bruce Irons, and growing up they all had access to grade-A, top quality, prime surfing real estate. That being said, and in the tradition of Tom Curren and Bobby Martinez, Parker Coffin has been blessed with having Rincon in his backyard. The long, winding wave has allowed Parker the freedom to experiment with and hone his style, which in the process has made him as well rounded as anyone when it comes to open-face surfing. The rail work and technique are in place, now, like a lot of people from his neck of the woods, the challenge will be spending a winter away from home.
