Nat Young - Surf

Growing up in a legendary surf spot, Santa Cruz, CA, Nat Young is tough from years in cold, shark riddled water.  Now he has earned the license to travel the world surfing the warmer waters of Indonesia, Mexico, Australia, Brazil, and Hawaii.

When he’s not on location at a perfect break in the tropics, the 2006 & 2007 NSSA West Coast Champion and 2007 Oakley Pro Junior Champion can be found surfing mornings at Santa Cruz’s Gladiator Pit and The Lane, without booties. He’s a focused competitor, aiming for the World Qualifying Series and dreaming about eventually making the World Championship Tour. But he’s not going to let that stop him from having some fun along the way. During the NSSA Nationals last June at Trestles, Nat participated in a cease-fire and helped convinced the other competitors not to go for any more waves if a set didn’t come in. While that didn’t make the judges very happy, Nat still managed to cash in at the Nike 6.0 Trestles Hold ‘Em Poker Table after the event. As Nat already knows, it’s easy to play the game when you know you can’t lose.
