“My father was a good surfer, he was one of the first surfers in Morocco,” tells the goofy-footed Marc Lacomare. And after dad found it in himself to settle down and start a family, the Lacomares moved to France, where young Marc quickly found his own footing at Hossegor, and eventually became enraptured with the idea of making a living riding waves. “My dream was to be a pro surfer, and so I started to do some contests,” says Marc. By 2006 he won the European Junior title, and finished forth at the World Juniors. Now living in Capbreton, close to the beach where he first rode a board, Lacomare’s been preparing to take on the world. “As well as surfing, I’ve been boxing a little bit, running, doing core strength training and I love playing tennis,” he says. “But still, surfing is very inspiring and I want it in my life forever.”
