Waimanalo’s Kekoa Cazimero spent his younger years surfing Sandy’s every day and hitting the books. Both efforts paid off. With a high school GPA that averaged above 3.5 and a 2006 Open Men’s Championship at Nationals, Cazimero has already proved he has the brains and talent to be a competitive threat. Currently dipping his toes into the WQS cauldron, it remains to be seen where he’ll ultimately end up—we all know the ’QS can be a tough place to build on a budding career—but if Cazimero can translate his knack for acing exams into acing opponents, he should do just fine.
